What is a licensed professional Practitioner?

Practitioners are part of the “healing arm” of this spiritual community, our Ministry of Prayer. The practitioners, along with our minister, are committed to setting and holding the consciousness for our spiritual community and to practicing spiritual and mental healing. Practitioners are licensed by the United Centers for Spiritual Living after a minimum of four years’ study, followed by stringent written and oral testing. Their licenses are renewed every two years, pending verification that they have completed required Continuing Licensing Units and service hours.

Professional Practitioners employ affirmative prayer (spiritual mind treatment) to assist you in working through the issues of your life. They also may lovingly guide you during this process, through Spiritual Counseling, to understand and then apply these Universal Principles for yourself. A Practitioner is not a psychological counselor, nor a giver of advice. Licensed Professional Practitioners are available to work with you in private sessions by appointment. They also serve as teachers and assistants in Science of Mind classes, workshops and seminars, are available for prayer each Sunday after service, provide the invocations, readings, and affirmations in the services, and they conduct the Sunday Meditation at 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary.

Working with a Practitioner
Our wonderful Practitioner Core is available in the Sanctuary after the Sunday church service to pray with you. You may also write your prayer request on a Ministry of Prayer form and place it in the Offering Basket during Sunday Service, or in the Prayer Box in the Lounge. If you wish, you may also submit your prayer request through our web site. Prayer requests are kept in strict confidence and distributed to our Practitioners for one full week of prayer. These services are lovingly provided at no charge.

Private appointments may be made by contacting any of the Licensed Practitioners. Private sessions for spiritual counseling are conducted on a fee basis, arranged prior to the session. These fees vary, but no one seeking spiritual counseling will be turned away.
